Kimchi and bulgogi are probably two of the best known Korean food known to the world. While kimchi may be quite difficult on western palates, bulgogi, on the other hand, is widely enjoyed by all.
Bulgogi is a popular Korean dish that usually consists of thinly sliced beef marinated in soy sauce, sugar and sesame oil although variations can be made with chicken and pork.
Traditionally, bulgogi is prepared on a grill but it can also be pan-
(serves 4)
Ingredients:1 pound beef, thinly sliced
½ cup brown sugar
2 stalks green onions, sliced
1
onion, sliced
1 medium carrot, sliced
½ cup light soy sauce
1 clove garlic, minced
2
tablespoons cooking rice wine
2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds
2 tablespoons sesame
oil
How to cook beef bulgogi:
Place beef slices, rice wine and remaining ingredients except vegetables in a large bowl; mix well.
Add in vegetables and mix well again.
Let beef slices sit in marinade (in refrigerator) for at least 2 hours before cooking.
