I like giving my kids bananas because they are naturally sweet and keep the children full longer than any other fruit. That way, kids are less likely to ask for unhealthy snacks between meals.
Being picky eaters, my kids tend to get bored if I were to serve them bananas the same way everyday. So every now and then I have think of different ways to make bananas interesting and fun to eat.
Here are a few delicious ideas that my kids really enjoy, and I hope your children will like them as well. Not just for kids, adults love them too!
These banana recipes for children are insanely easy to make; even my kids can prepare on their own.
1. Banana Tortilla Wrap
Lay a tortilla wrap out, and spread about 2 tablespoons peanut butter and jelly.
Place a banana on the edge of the wrap, and roll the fruit up snugly.
2. Sunflower Seeds Banana Pops
Insert a popsicle stick into the cut end of a banana. Dip banana in milk, and then roll the fruit in sunflower seeds.
Gently press the seeds so that they adhere to the banana.
Place bananas on a cookie sheet. Freeze for 3 hours or until frozen solid.
3. Brown Sugar Baked Bananas
Preheat your oven to 375°F or 190°C. Place bananas on a greased cookie sheet.
Brush with melted butter, and sprinkle lightly with a pinch of salt. Sprinkle brown sugar and ground cinnamon over bananas.
Bake for about 10-
4. Banana Prune Fruit Salad
Combine 2 sliced-
5. Frozen Chocolate Banana Bites
Combine ½ cup chopped dark chocolate, 1 tablespoon milk and 1 tablespoon olive oil in a small saucepan. Stir over medium heat until melted and smooth. Set aside to cool slightly.
Cut 2 bananas into bite-
Dip banana pieces into melted chocolate to coat evenly. Then dip into toppings of your choice. You can use a variety of nuts, dried fruits or toasted coconut flakes.
Place banana onto a parchment lined baking sheet and pin the freezer for 3 hours until frozen solid.
