Most of you will agree with me that there is nothing more seductive than a woman fluttering her thick long eyelashes across the room; it can make a man's heart skip a beat and maneuver things in her favor. However, not every woman is blessed with naturally beautiful long eyelashes.
For the rest of us who are green with envy (probably cursing and swearing at our sparse possession), is it still possible to achieve that "ultimate big lash look"?
Yes, through clever eye makeup tricks, that is. Although there are eyelash extensions to make your eyelashes look as if they stretch a mile, they are often expensive and a hassle to apply.
Hence, mascaras or false eyelashes remain the favorite choice for most women who want bigger brighter eyes.
When it comes to mascaras, the secret to longer thicker eyelashes lies entirely in the brush. You should look for a mascara brush with both long and short bristles. Not only it will apply a thicker layer of mascara, at the same time, it also declumps and defines your eyelashes.
Alternatively, a mascara brush which has a brush and comb combo is also great for this purpose. You can also purchase a lengthening mascara with cellulose or synthetic fibers to extend the length of your eyelashes or a mascara with curling formula that will shape your eyelashes and hold once the mascara dries.
Next, the color of mascara and its application. Black mascara promises the most dramatic impact when you want to bulk up your eyelashes and give them the much needed oomph.
Before you apply mascara, always curl your eyelashes first to make them more visible and then apply the mascara from the base of your eyelashes to the tips, wiggling the brush gently as you move up the lashes. Wiggling the brush will help to prevent clumping.
Also, make sure to reach the eyelashes at the outer corners of your eyes. Unless you want to recreate the "Twiggy/Liza Minnelli" look, then apply mascara on the bottom eyelashes. Let your eyelashes dry and then apply another layer of mascara to really accentuate them..
False eyelashes are another good option if you desire a pair of glamorous, sexy eyes for a night out. When purchasing false eyelashes, choose eyelashes that come in a strip rather than buying individual eyelashes. Unless you are very skilful with false eyelashes, individual eyelashes might be too difficult to use while trying to achieve a natural look.
How to Apply False Eyelashes
To apply false eyelashes, first trim them to fit the length of your eyelid. Using

Wait for a few seconds or until the glue starts to get a tacky feel and then apply the false eyelashes to your upper eyelid by pressing it into your eyelash line gently.
To make the false eyelashes appear more natural, blend it with your other makeup; for instance, apply a line of eyeliner over the base of the false eyelashes once they have been placed on your eye.
