Taking a walk down the baby diaper aisles can send any budget conscious parent into a panic attack. You'd be amazed how quickly babies go through diapers and the moment you realize how much diapers cost, you'd probably want to save money on other things. There are several ways to help you stretch your dollar and make purchasing diapers less expensive.
1. Consider cloth diapers
Many new mothers shy away from cloth diapers because of the mess. But if you want big savings, this is by far the cheapest option out there.
You don't need many to start with, maybe a dozen and wash them everyday. Use disposable diapers only when you're traveling.

Store brands cost 25% to 50% less than name brands and they are just as effective. In fact, store brands may even work better than name brands.
Also, be aware that certain advertising claims such as better absorbency and better fit are not always true so you'll need to do your homework before you purchase. Once you've found a good brand, stick with it as a baby’s skin is extremely sensitive and you wouldn't want constantly expose it to different brands.
4. Look in your local papers for coupons or sales on diapers
The best time to save on diapers is to buy when they are on sale.
Alternatively, you can also subscribe to different diaper brands websites such as Pampers and Huggies and they will send you coupons, which are very helpful.

5. Buy diapers in bulk
You can usually buy larger boxes of diapers online for a reasonable price. But be careful not to buy too many since kids grow fast and diaper sizes will change every month.
