This homemade body powder is absorbent, fragrant, and a natural non-talc alternative

This natural body powder recipe makes about 2 cups, and takes about 2-3 days for
lavender oil to infuse with the base powders. Good for all skin types; perfect for
Natural Lavender Body Powder Recipe
½ cup arrowroot
½ cup cornstarch
½ cup white clay
¼ cup lavender buds, finely powered
¼ cup rose petals, finely powered
100 drops lavender essential oil (you can also use geranium essential oil)
How to make lavender powder
1. Place arrowroot, cornstarch, white clay, powederd lavender buds, powdered rose
petals in a large bowl. Using a whisk, mix thoroughly to blend. Alternatively, you
can combine these ingredients in a food processor for about 15 seconds. Transfer
to a large resealable container.
2. With the help of a mortar and pestle, combine lavender essential oil drop by drop
with 5-6 tablespoons of the powder mix until the oil is well absorbed.
3. Add this oil/powder mixture to your container, and whisk slowly. Cover tightly.
4. Store the container in a dark, cool, dry place for about 2 days to allow the fragrances
of essential oil and the flowers to blend through.
5. Transfer ther natural lavender dusting powder to smaller containers. You may want
to consider shaker containers, which are available cheaply at most craft stores,
locally or online.
There's no need to referigerate your homemade lavender body powder, but use within
12 months for maximum fragrance.
