1. Brush lips with a baby toothbrush and apply lip balm generously. That way, you remove dry cracked skin covering your smooth soft lips underneath.

Exfoliation also promotes circulation in the lips, causing a temporary plump.

Also, make sure that the lip balm has sunk a little before you proceed to the next step.

2. Carefully outline your lips with a natural lip liner. Use lip liners that are not more than one shade darker than your lipstick color.

If you're like me who have shaky hands and can't draw a straight line, I suggest you apply a few soft dots strategically along the edge of your lips and then fill in the line by connecting those dots.

3. Now, dust your lips with a little loose powder (or mineral) and apply your lipstick. This will give less lipstick buildup and stop the color from bleeding.

For best results, use your fingers to pat on the lipstick. Blot your lips on a tissue after the first application and then reapply again to make the lip color last.

4. Finally, apply your lip gloss. Again, use clear colors. Lip glosses make lips appear bigger and plumper because it allows light to reflect from your lip surface, giving the illusion of fullness and depth.

This makeup trick works well in situations where you want to make lips look fuller quickly, without pain.
