I've to say that at the moment, chick peas (or garbanzo beans) are one of my favorite healthy snack items. I like them because of their nutty buttery flavor, and invaluable nutrient content. Just two to three tablespoons count for 1 portion of the daily recommended 5 portions of fruit and vegetables.

protect against osteoporosis and minimize hot flushes in post-
This healthy snack recipe is very easy-
1 can (15 oz) chickpeas
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon olive oil
2 teaspoon curry powder*
1. Preheat your oven to 425˚F. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and set aside.
2. Rinse the chickpeas in a colander, making sure the water is thoroughly drained, and pat dry with a paper towel. Set aside.
3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over low heat, and add curry powder. Cook, stirring with a wooden spoon, until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
4. Add chickpeas and salt. Stir well to mix.
5. Transfer chick peas to the prepared baking sheet and spread out in a single layer. Place on the middle rack of oven.
6. Roast for 30-
*Variation – red pepper flakes, lemon pepper or ground cumin, or anything that makes you go mmmmm....
